Doing our bit in the Covid 19 crisis for the community

In these uncertain times, Service Robotics has volunteered support to local communities for those in self-isolation due to the coronavirus crisis.

We have approached town and county councils to see how we might apply our experience in creating the GenieConnect service, to support local communities including the creation of databases of the vulnerable, elderly or self-isolating. We are organising support with citizen access to vital information, organising shopping and grocery deliveries and general advice for those who are worried.

We are also evaluating ways to accelerate our GenieConnect® solution delivery to provide comfort, communications and remote care for older adults, the vulnerable and those who are in self isolation.

The GenieConnect® voice enabled service is designed to alleviate isolation, loneliness and provide social connectivity through free video calling, welfare video monitoring with alerts, entertainment and access to online shopping and remote medical support. The service was aimed at older adults for our commercial launch later this year, however it is clear that all of these service features are very valuable for all users in isolation, and can help alleviate strain on the NHS and Care Providers through reduced face to face exposures.

We are in communication with government bodies to explore how our GenieConnect® service can be applied most effectively and how to quickly get GenieConnect® services to “at-risk” users or those in self isolation, their families, friends and carers, to make the prospect of self-isolation less lonely and disheartening.

This new effort will require significant additional funding and the success of our current Crowdcube fund raising will play a direct role in what we can achieve so we urge anyone considering investment to support us in this very worthwhile effort. We also encourage everyone reading this to explore ways in which you can make a difference to alleviate loneliness and fear in your community.

All of us at Service Robotics wish our investors, customers and suppliers a safe and healthy Easter and summer ahead. Stay safe and look after each other!
